Fr. Johnson Vazhappilly CMI

Rev Fr. Johnson Vazhappilly CMI is the Executive Director and CEO of Rajagiri Hospital for the last 13 years, one of finest of healthcare facilities and one among three JCI accredited Hospitals in the state of Kerala, India. Earlier, in Rajagiri Province, he had performed commendably as Secretary for Education, Secretary for Finance, Corporate Manager of Sacred Heart Corporate Education Agency, and a teacher in history for 14 years. He had delivered keynote lectures on invited podiums such as CII, KMA, TIECON, etc. He has been an active member of key national and international healthcare management forums.

He has also taken training from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and Indian Institute of Management Calcutta meant for healthcare executives. In his efforts to stay abreast of the challenges in the healthcare industry, Fr. Johnson completed a one year certificate course on Safety Quality Informatics and Leadership (SQIL) from Harvard Medical School, Boston. Recently, he completed a Unit in Clinical Pastoral Education from Mount Sinai Center for Spirituality and Health, New York in August 2021.

Under his leadership, within two years of the inauguration of Rajagiri Hospital, it won several awards and that includes, Kerala State Pollution Control Board Award 2017 for private hospitals in 500 +bed capacity category in June 2017, the Best Multispecialty Hospital in Kerala in National Quality Excellence Awards-Praxis Media, in January 2017, Nursing Excellence Awards 2017 from AHPI, Outstanding Concrete Structure Award of Kerala – under Commercial Building Category, September 2016, Hospica En Masse award for Excellence in Quality, Safety and Patient Care in September 2016,etc.

Fr. Jose Alex was the Principal of Rajagiri College for 13 years,(1984-1997), Director of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (2002-2011) and Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology for 9 years. Following this, he was Provincial of Sacred Heart Province for 8 years. He was the member of various universities like Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala University, Calicut University, Mangalore University, Andhra University and other prestigious organizations in India. Fr.Jose Alex was also a research guide for doctoral research under Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam since 1992.

Fr. Joy Kilikunnel CMI

Fr. Joy Kilikunnel CMI is the Director Administration of Rajagiri Hospital, one of finest of healthcare facilities and one among three JCI accredited Hospitals in Kerala. He is in the Board of Trustees of Rajagiri Healthcare & Education Trust since its inception in 2011. The Trust has more than a dozen projects in the pipeline that are earmarked to be masterpiece edifices in the fields of medical education and healthcare. Together with the Management council and Executive council, he leads the Hospital Operations, Hospital Expansion Projects and other new hospital projects of the institution.

Earlier, in Rajagiri Province, he had performed commendably as a teacher in the Rajagiri School, Kalamassery in the year 1990-91. In addition to the above, in a career spanning around three decades, Fr Joy Kilikunnel had held various lead roles such as Lecturer in Sacred Hearts College Thevara, Vice Principal and later as the Principal of Viswajyothi CMI Public School, Angamaly, Kochi .The experiences and education made him a professional with rare mixture of competence in management, administration and teaching , all rolled in a priest; which he effectively employed in his current assignment, that earned high appreciations from superiors, authorities and from the hospital stake holders.
Born in 1960, Fr Joy Kilikunnel alias Joseph K J hails from Kizhakkambalam became a member of CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) in 1978, began his religious profession in 1981 and an ordained priest by the year 1990. He pursued BA Economics from Mahatma Gandhi University in the year 1986 and MA Economics from Baroda University in the year 1993. He did his MBA in Healthcare from Sikkim Manipal University in the year 2014. He also holds additional Bachelor’s degrees in Theology and Philosophy.

Hi - l am currently a support person for my husband who had knee replacement surgery at this hospital. What an amazing hospital and staff this hospital has! Global health solutions - were wonderful they looked after my husband and myself from the minute we arrived and through all the procedures required for the surgery and recovery. We were picked up from the airport at midnight, taken to an apartment for our 1st nights stay to recover from our flights.

Globus Restaurant have looked after us so well coming to our room giving us options and delivering beautiful meals.
