World class quality of care, amazing service at all levels and brilliant value. In my home country of New Zealand I was told that I would need to wait 2.5 years for a hip replacement, with the first consult with a specialist at least 12-14 months away. Private care options were extremely costly and still an 8-12 months wait.
I had selected Rajagiri hospital, had received an initial quote for a full hip replacement and treatment plan, and amazingly also had a video consult with the surgeon (Dr Murukan Babu) who would undergo the procedure. I finalised my flights and visa there and then, and details were finalised and a dedicated WhatsApp group of my total care team was set up for all communications from that point forward. Once I arrived at the airport in Kochi, every single detail was taken care of by Rajagiri staff with full wrap around care they provide international patients. The hospital was world class, every staff member was friendly, professional, courteous, and every manager of each department I interacted with went out of their way to introduce themselves and took an interest in my procedure and my recovery. Within 1/2 a day I had all my tests / investigations completed and the next day I was in surgery. The next day in ICU I was given a programme by the Physiotherapist and was up walking on my new hip (aided by a walker)! Amazing! This exceeded all of my expectations. After 4 days in post op care being cared for by an extensive nursing team, which included daily visits by specialist and a follow-up / sign-out by Dr Babu and I was discharged to a beautiful hotel near the hospital for my final 9 days of recovery before my flight back to New Zealand. I cannot express how impressed and grateful I am to all the staff that had a role in my care journey at Rajagiri. I was treated with genuine warmth, respect, compassion and care by every person I encountered. Truly remarkable given the size and number of patients that flow through Rajagiri on a daily basis.

The cost of the surgery including my two weeks of care was several multiples more cost effective than I could have received in my home country or any other western medical service which was truly astounding and made the decision to go with Rajagiri, and orthopaedic surgery in Kochi a no-brainer. To be sitting here on the path to full mobility and quality of life again, and not be staring down the barrel of a 2.5 year wait is so relieving and I am so grateful and pleased I made this decision. I wish to personally thank the following people who played a role in my care journey, many who felt like friends by the time I left.

A special thanks to Dr Babu and his surgical team - anaesthesiologist etc. Hashim and Chris at the international desk who welcomed me to Rajagiri, navigated and supported me through my journey. The ICU team with a special thanks to Sara. And finally my bystander Blessen who for many days helped me in and out of bed and kept me company till I was discharged. My journey with Rajagiri Hospital begins on August 2, 2024. After a mishap from Sharjah, I was rushed to Rajagiri Hospital, I was fortunate or perhaps I would have done some good karma to reach safe hands of Dr. Biju Chandran and team. Dr. Biju, best decision-making doctor. He calmly and thoroughly explained all forms of treatment to my family, throughout all my admissions. He was really sympathetic and compassionate despite my outbursts and tantrums brought on by the lengthy 14-day stay. Highly recommended doctor for any relevant cases.

Dr. Rizwan Ahamed, a real angel in disguise, on the other hand highly skilled and professional. My family will never forget the level of struggle you have taken to save me. I will never forget the confidence you gave me to look forward to life and to maintain my mental courage throughout my bad phase. To be precise, a genuine human being with a great deal of generosity and exceptional ability. Dr. Mathew was very helpful, friendly, and professional. Took enough time to patiently and thoroughly explain everything. Great teamwork.
The nurses, the Multi-Organ Transplant Nurses were more than family during all my stays. My expectations were exceeded by the level of care and kindness, I had felt always very valued from the moment I entered the admitting room until I was dropped off at my vehicle to go home. I can't recall ever being left unattended, when being transported to and from procedure rooms, any short walks, or anywhere else. I truly wished I could name all of them. I must admit that MOTU nurses have had the best nursing orientation and training I have ever encountered.
A special thank you to Ms. Ajimol and Aruna, the supervisors, who used to check on me and ask whether I was okay and made sure I was handled with lot of care. I will always remember all your happy faces. Big thanks to the cleaning support team, who keeps the hospital so clean. The admin staffs and doctors' assistants were quite competent. They ensured that I remained calm during all my stays. Ms. Jeethu handled my insurance and put a lot of effort into getting it approved. Despite her numerous obstacles, she was an amazing staff member who always strived to accomplish everything with a huge smile. Mr. Mathew, coordinator (Gastric) Mr. Mathew, who used to arrange all my hospital visits exceeded my expectations in terms of quality of work and dedication. Extremely professional, caring and supportive, clear communication. True gem of a person, very dependable.

Overall… The service I received was impeccable, a memorable experience! Best team of doctors, ethical, prioritizing patient care and is constantly looking for ways to improve their skills. Hospital environment is well organized, clean and supportive. Must mention the feeling of God's presence felt from the lovely chapel and hospital during our bad phase. I highly recommended Rajagiri Hospital from the bottom of my heart. Thank you all for bringing back my smile.

My Rajagiri Hospital experience started in Christchurch, New Zealand.I was looking online for overseas hip replacement surgery options. I came across India ????. I read reviews and contacted Nissy at 360 global. She provided all info, quotes and YouTube reviews. I was sold and off I went.I was picked up from the airport by Rajagiri Hospital's driver service and taken to the hospitals quality Guest house.Next day, I met Chris and Hashim Rajagiri's international support team. I spent the day doing extensive testing, echo, ecg, bloods and urine. I had xrays and met with my anesthetist and the highly experienced orthopedic surgeon Dr Marukan Babu, with over 7000 hip and knee surgeries under his belt very well respected in the state of Kerala.

I was checked in to my room, which was so fancy. It had a lounge, a bathroom and a bedroom, two tv's and a spare bed too. I was given the menu and able to order whatever I wanted when I wanted it.I went into operating theater the next day and woke in ICU a bit later. I had no pain and this continued right through. The nurses are amazing, so caring and professional. The surgical team came to see me each day to check my recovery.I went back to my room in the international global suite and spent 5 days there making great progress thanks to the nurses and my physio Afresh who put me through my paces. Chris and Hashim checked in each day. They genuinely want the best for their patients.I left hospital and was able to move into the guesthouse, with options of day trips and even an overnight trip to the beautiful muunar tea plantation.I went back to Rajagiri 12 days later to have my staples removed. The nurse was so skillful, I couldn't feel them being removed. I was then allowed to leave. Hashim makes you feel at ease with his caring touches and words of encouragement and willingness to be contacted at anytime for any reason. Chris gave the same offer and arrange my collection to take me to the airport.Thank you Rajagiri international hospital, you are amazing. I will be back with my family. My experience was perfect! My implant is a US made stryker. Made from titanium and ceramics. Our 1½-year-old daughter, Dua Shaheen, suffered a serious accident when a bedside table fell on her toes, causing crushing injury to the 4th and 5th toes of her right foot. We recently underwent pituitary macroadenoma removal surgery at Rajagiri Hospital, and our overall experience was extremely positive. We had international insurance, and the insurance coordinators(Jeethu at the hospital )and Santhosh(Muscat) were exceptionally supportive.The doctors Dr. Jagatlal (Neurosurgeon), Dr. Rajesh Raju George (Ent Surgeon), Elgy from ENT Dept., Dr. Karun Mammen (Endocrinologist) were very supportive.
