On 18/01/2026 night, my mother was admitted to Rajagiri Hospital due to a stroke. From the moment of admission, we experienced excellent care and professionalism. The treatment methods, clinical decisions, and the way the staff interacted with both the patient and bystanders were truly commendable.
The entire medical team was genuinely invested in giving 100% effort toward my mother’s recovery and overall health improvement.
We are especially grateful to Dr. Giggy Varkey Kuruttukulam, who treated my mother. He is a complete package of what a patient truly needs — expertise, confidence, compassion, and clear guidance. His approach gave us great hope and reassurance during a very difficult time.
We would also like to thank Dr. Senthil Kumar M, the neuro fellow, who is extremely kind and supportive. He treated both the patient and the bystanders with great care, patience, and respect.

I work in Abu Dhabi, and my wife and I are covered under Daman insurance. When she reached her seventh month of pregnancy, we decided to come back to Kerala for her delivery. After an immense amount of searching and comparing options, we chose Rajagiri Hospital, Kochi, Kerala for her treatment and delivery. From the very first visit, Dr. Raji Raj welcomed and comforted my wife. During her last scan in the ninth month, an emergency admission was required. I was completely panicked by the unplanned admission and was busy arranging urgent travel from Abu Dhabi to India. At that crucial time, the International Insurance Team at Rajagiri stepped in and took over all the burden related to insurance.
A special thanks to Ms. Jeethu from the International Insurance Team. She arranged all permissions and clarifications for the insurance company, coordinated with the Paramount–Daman teams, and handled everything from their side. Whenever I asked her for an update, she always responded with reassurance and a smile, telling me there was nothing to worry about and that everything would be taken care of. That support meant a lot to us during a very stressful time. The delivery team and the support staff helped us tremendously in reducing our tension, especially the nursing and non-nursing team on the fifth floor. I approached the Financial Counselling team for help. Mr. Basil Eldhose explained the costs clearly and calmly. The staff supported me and helped me not to panic. They gave me confidence. Our overall experience was excellent. The hospital demonstrates a high level of professionalism, particularly in its care for international patients. The organization, medical expertise, and patient-centered approach we experienced exceeded our expectations.
During our stay, we interacted with several departments, including Neurology, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Radiology, Surgery, inpatient admission, and Full Health Checkup services. Across all these departments, the medical teams were knowledgeable, attentive, and professional, providing consistent and reliable care.
The International Patients Department deserves special recognition. The reception staff handled all matters with great professionalism and efficiency, and they continuously offered support and assistance whenever needed. World class quality of care, amazing service at all levels and brilliant value. In my home country of New Zealand I was told that I would need to wait 2.5 years for a hip replacement, with the first consult with a specialist at least 12-14 months away. Private care options were extremely costly and still an 8-12 months wait.
I had selected Rajagiri hospital, had received an initial quote for a full hip replacement and treatment plan, and amazingly also had a video consult with the surgeon (Dr Murukan Babu) who would undergo the procedure. I finalised my flights and visa there and then, and details were finalised and a dedicated WhatsApp group of my total care team was set up for all communications from that point forward. Once I arrived at the airport in Kochi, every single detail was taken care of by Rajagiri staff with full wrap around care they provide international patients. The hospital was world class, every staff member was friendly, professional, courteous, and every manager of each department I interacted with went out of their way to introduce themselves and took an interest in my procedure and my recovery. Within 1/2 a day I had all my tests / investigations completed and the next day I was in surgery. The next day in ICU I was given a programme by the Physiotherapist and was up walking on my new hip (aided by a walker)! Amazing! This exceeded all of my expectations. After 4 days in post op care being cared for by an extensive nursing team, which included daily visits by specialist and a follow-up / sign-out by Dr Babu and I was discharged to a beautiful hotel near the hospital for my final 9 days of recovery before my flight back to New Zealand. I cannot express how impressed and grateful I am to all the staff that had a role in my care journey at Rajagiri. I was treated with genuine warmth, respect, compassion and care by every person I encountered. Truly remarkable given the size and number of patients that flow through Rajagiri on a daily basis.
The cost of the surgery including my two weeks of care was several multiples more cost effective than I could have received in my home country or any other western medical service which was truly astounding and made the decision to go with Rajagiri, and orthopaedic surgery in Kochi a no-brainer. To be sitting here on the path to full mobility and quality of life again, and not be staring down the barrel of a 2.5 year wait is so relieving and I am so grateful and pleased I made this decision. I wish to personally thank the following people who played a role in my care journey, many who felt like friends by the time I left.
A special thanks to Dr Babu and his surgical team - anaesthesiologist etc. Hashim and Chris at the international desk who welcomed me to Rajagiri, navigated and supported me through my journey. The ICU team with a special thanks to Sara.
